ePortfolio: Guidance for satisfactory progression at ARCP panels

Committee of General Practice Education Directors (COGPED) (attached)

The UK Deanery Assessment Reference Group, on behalf of Committee of General Practice Education Directors (COGPED), has published GP Specialty Trainee (GPS)T ePortfolio: Guidance for Satisfactory Progression at ARCP Panels.

This document provides guidance on good practice for GP Specialty Trainees on how to submit evidence that, if written well and demonstrates competence, including the competence to learn, is likely to result in a satisfactory outcome at ARCP Panel. It has been shaped by extensive consultation, including the views of UK Deanery Assessment Leads, COGPED, RCGP WPBA Core Group and RCGP Medical Director of Curriculum.

The guidance comes into effect on 3rd August 2016 and will apply to all ARCP Panels from that date.

Please note, that whilst we hope that it will be of great benefit in guiding trainees, a satisfactory outcome cannot be guaranteed, and the document does not represent GMC, COGPED or RCGP policy or regulation.

If you have any queries about the guidance or its implementation, please email us at Alison.sneddon@nes.scot.nhs.uk or graham.rutt@ne.hee.nhs.uk
