Do you want to become a Mental Health First Aider?
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to become a qualified Mental Health First Aider. Upon completion of the two day Adult Mental Health First Aid, an internationally recognised course, you will be a Mental Health First Aider.
The Adult MHFA Two Day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider. Mental Health First Aiders have:
- An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
What will you learn?
You will learn about a range of mental health issues: depression, suicidal crisis, anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. You will learn how to:
- Recognise the symptoms of mental health issues
- Provide initial help
- Guide a person towards appropriate professional help

How is the course delivered? And what is the course structure?
Course is delivered across 2 days, and learning takes place across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Our 2 day courses are always delivered by 2 experienced instructors. Who can attend?
The course is open to anybody over the age of 16. No background knowledge of mental health required
You will be expected to participate in the programme evaluation to help us learn assess impact of learning and improve future delivery. You will receive a copy of the 275 pages MHFA manual (left) and workbook, and a certificate will be emailed by MHFA England following attendance.

We offer in house training delivery at a time and location convenient to you. Please email email@example.com to enquire further. We are run a limited number of courses centrally in Tower Hamlets, East London. Please see below current dates currently available.
How much does it cost?
The standard cost is £300 per person, however we are currently offering up to 50% discount price of £150 PP until December 2018. For Tower Hamlets Public Sector and not for profit organisations, limited fully funded places are available. We also deliver in house course, do get in touch for further details
