COURSE FULLY BOOKED!!

Tower Hamlets CEPN are pleased to host this one day GP Update course. This comprehensive, RCGP accredited course is designed to get you up to speed with the latest evidence and guidance relevant to Primary Care and provides you with 6 CPD credits to help you meet the requirements for appraisals and revalidation.

The GP presenters summarise and discuss the results of the most important new evidence and guidance, concentrating on what it means to you and your patients in the consulting room tomorrow, to make your lives a bit easier.

Delivered in an engaging lecture based format, with plenty of time for cases, interaction, humour and video clips, it will keep you focused and awake, however tough the week has been. Here are some of the topics covered:

·         Heart failure: update on SIGN guidelines – demystifying HFPEF, where does sacubitril/valsartan and ivabradine fit (and how on earth do you pronounce them!)

·         Stroke and TIA – why we should feel confident about early aspirin.

·         Sepsis: How to spot it (NICE guideline)

·         Asthma: The battle of the guidelines BTS/SIGN v proposed NICE guidelines – what should we do?

·         COPD: Drug dilemmas, practical tips for choosing inhaler devices.

·         Diabetes: Which drugs when?

·         Acute kidney injury –what to do with all those alerts!

·         MSK: Gout, Back pain (NICE guidance, use of gabapentinoids)

·         Cancer: Changes in colorectal cancer screening and a simple blood test that is more predictive of a cancer diagnosis than a breast lump or haemoptysis.

·         Older people: Multimorbidity, frailty and polypharmacy, delirium

·         And many more besides

Each Delegate will also receive:

·         A copy of the GP Update Handbook. This fully-referenced, 400 pages handbook covers the most important research, policy and guidance relevant to primary care over the last 5 years.

·         One year’s FREE subscription to www.GPCPD.com. This gives you access to the handbook in electronic form AND three times more content. We think it is a truly comprehensive resource for almost any primary care consultation (though it can’t pass the tissues or make a cup of coffee!).

·         www.GPCPD.com  allows you to capture CPD credits as you read on the site and use it in consultations! It also comes with focused learning activities to cement your knowledge. It has useful suggestions for audit, quality improvement and reflective exercises for both practice based and sessional GPs allowing you to earn many more CPD credits.

·         It links seamlessly with the Fourteen Fish appraisal toolkit and the learning output can be simply downloaded as a PDF for Clarity and MAG Form users.

VENUE: Education Centre, Mile End Hospital, Bancroft Road, London E1 4DG

On the day, registration starts at 9.00am and the course runs from 9.30am to 5.00pm. The course fee includes refreshments and a buffet lunch.
